Directions to the Festival

From San Francisco:
Cross the Bay Bridge (I-80). Coming off the bridge, take 580 East (Downtown Oakland-Hayward-Stockton). Proceed approximately 1 mile and exit Highway 24 East (Walnut Creek). Travel 6 miles, through the Caldecott tunnel to the Orinda exit, turn left (north) on Camino Pablo, which becomes San Pablo Dam Road. Proceed north on San Pablo Dam Road, one mile past the San Pablo Dam Recreation Area entrance, to the Kennedy Grove entrance.

From Berkeley/Emeryville:
take I-80 East (towards Sacramento) to the San Pablo Dam Road exit. (NOT San Pablo Avenue!) Turn right on San Pablo Dam Road and proceed about 5 miles through El Sobrante to the park entrance, about 0.25 mile south of the intersection with Castro Ranch Road.

From Marin:
Cross the Richmond-San Rafael bridge on 580 East. Exit at Bayview Avenue in Richmond. At the stop sign, turn left. Cross over the freeway and turn right onto Carlson Blvd. As you proceed on Carlson, you will see I-80 over up ahead. As soon as Carlson soon goes under 1-80, turn left onto the freeway on ramp to I-80 towards Sacramento. Take I-80 north about 4 miles to exit at San Pablo Dam Road. (NOT San Pablo Avenue!) Turn right on San Pablo Dam Road and proceed about 5 miles through El Sobrante to the park entrance, about 0.25 mile south of the intersection with Castro Ranch Road. Turn south on San Pablo Dam Road and proceed through El Sobrante to the park entrance, about 0.25 mile south of the intersection with Castro Ranch Road.

From Vallejo/Fairfield/Davis:
Take I-80 West to the San Pablo Dam Road exit. Turn left on San Pablo Dam Road and proceed about 5 miles through El Sobrante to the park entrance, about 0.25 mile south of the intersection with Castro Ranch Road.

From Oakland:
Take Highway 24 East through the tunnel to the Orinda exit, turn left (north) on Camino Pablo, which becomes San Pablo Dam Road. Proceed north on San Pablo Dam Road, one mile past the San Pablo Dam Recreation Area entrance, to the Kennedy Grove entrance.

From Orinda/Walnut Creek area:
Take Highway 24 to the Orinda exit, take the right hand "Orinda Village" lane and turn right (north) on Camino Pablo, which becomes San Pablo Dam Road. Proceed north on San Pablo Dam Road, one mile past the San Pablo Dam Recreation Area entrance, to the Kennedy Grove entrance.

On foot/bicycle/public transit:
If you want to take public transit: take BART to Richmond or Orinda, (Orinda is closer) and catch AC Transit #74. There's limited service on weekends (only one bus each hour). Tell the driver you want to exit at Kennedy Grove park. NEW! AC TRANSIT will have a temporary stop on the Northbound route from Orinda at the park entrance. (If you are travelling south from Richmond BART, exit at Castro Ranch Road intersection and walk half a mile). NOTE: Riders are advised to catch the bus to Richmond to depart, as there is no close bus stop southbound on San Pablo Dam Rd. Last bus departs at 5:12 pm, but there are usually folks willing to drive to the BART stations at the end of the last concert of the day (you just have to be assertive about finding a ride). The park is a 7 mile walk north from Orinda BART on Camino Pablo Rd (Allow two to three hours walking time). It's a very nice bicycle ride, by the way.

Ridesharing/Carpooling:
Encouraged. However, for liability reasons, the Festival is not arranging any rides. If you would like to offer or need a ride, we suggest posting a notice on craigslist.

MapQuest/MapBlast/Yahoo Maps Users:
Web-based map providers and online directions companies may have difficulties locating Kennedy Grove Regional Recreation Area. We suggest using 7000 San Pablo Dam Rd, El Sobrante, California as a rough replacement.
